Sunday-Tuesday, Bridegroom Matins: Each evening the Matins services are offered. Here the image of Christ as the Bridegroom of the Church is presented. As members of the Church which is the Bride, we have to ask, are we ready for the Wedding Feast, the Pascha?

Wednesday – Holy Unction – This is a Sacrament, which means a mystical interaction with God. On this evening we present ourselves in all humility, in our physical and spiritual illnesses and ask God to heal us and ready us for the Resurrection. Prepare yourself for this evening as you would for Liturgy. It is best to fast beginning from the noon day meal.

Thursday - The commemoration of the Last Supper is celebrated in the morning’s Liturgy. During this Liturgy, a portion of the Body & Blood of Christ is prepared and reserved for use during the year for hospital and home visits. In the evening the Passion Gospels are read. During this service candle are held before the Amvon representing the Light of the Knowledge of Truth contained in the Gospels, that Light being Jesus Christ!

Friday- in the evening the Burial Service of the Lord is sung. A solemn Procession is made around the Church singing, “The Noble Joseph, having taken Thy Body down from the Cross, anointed it with spices and placed it in a new tomb…”. The procession concludes at the foot of the Tomb assembled in the center of the Church.

Saturday- The Church is open all day in anticipation of the Resurrection. Liturgy is offered in the morning, and then the wait begins. Nearing midnight the cry is heard “Christ is Risen!” and the whole universe rejoices

Sunday- The Holy Pascha, The Feast of Feasts, a most joyous Liturgy is celebrated. Christ is Risen!

If you are interested in prayer, join us for Vespers on a Saturday evening at 6:30pm. Vespers or the All Night Vigil is the traditional service on the eve of the celebration of the Liturgy. We celebrate in a very simple and quiet manner, usually just a priest, deacon and a reader; those who desire to sing, sing the evening's hymns and responses, other pray silently. Service books and music are available in the vestibule in an easy to follow format. We pray that you will have the opportunity to join us some Saturday evening.   With love in Christ,   Fr. Andrew

Confessions are heard every Saturday evening following Vespers and Sunday Morning at 9:00am. Please be sure to arrive on time to participate in the prayers offered before confession.

( Frequent Communion assumes frequent Confession )
