OUR NEWEST FUNDRAISER!

November 12, 2011

Not having the ability at the moment to make pirohi, due to the reconstruction of our Hall due to damage from the hurricane, we have become creative in our fund-raising efforts. Our Neighborhood Applebee's restaurant offered a "Pancake Breakfast" opportunity. Parishioners were Greeters, Servers, and Busboys for the morning as over 150 patrons enjoyed eggs, pancakes and sausages for breakfast. Everyone enjoyed the event, patrons and volunteers alike! A special," Thank You" to Applebee's for the opportunity.

On behalf of the Diocese's administration, Fr. Andrew presented Hramotas to Committee President David Lee and parishioners Martin Sorensen Jr. Mr. David Lee received the Hramota on behalf of the parishioners of Saint John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Church for their dedication and labor in the recovery and restoration of the Church from the floods which resulted from Hurricane Irene. Mr. Martin Sorensen received a Hromata for his life time of dedication and labor for the church of Saint John's.

AFTER THE DIVINE LITURGY

Due to the temporary loss of the use of our Church Hall the following schedule will be followed after the Sunday Divine Liturgy for use of the Church:

1^st Sundays � Sunday School instruction

2^nd Sundays- Available for private panahidas

3^rd Sundays- Sunday School instruction

4^th Sundays - Parish panahida

If you are interested in prayer, join us for Vespers on a Saturday evening at 6:30pm. Vespers or the All Night Vigil is the traditional service on the eve of the celebration of the Liturgy. We celebrate in a very simple and quiet manner, usually just a priest, deacon and a reader; those who desire to sing, sing the evening's hymns and responses, other pray silently. Service books and music are available in the vestibule in an easy to follow format. We pray that you will have the opportunity to join us some Saturday evening.

Confessions are heard every Saturday evening following Vespers and Sunday Morning at 9:00am. Please be sure to arrive on time to participate in the prayers offered before confession.
